Velma Lee (Constien) Hering Osborne

Velma Lee (Constien) Hering Osborne was born November 8, 1940 to Henry Christoph Adolph and Lillie Albertina (Tapper) Constien East of Hinton, OK.  She passed away Friday, April 30, 2021 at the Swedish Medical Center in Englewood, CO at the age of 80.  Velma attended Hinton Schools and graduated from Polytechnic High School in Long Beach, CA.  She was united in marriage to Earl Hering on December 13, 1959 in Las Vegas, NV.  They lived in Piedmont, CA.  Velma worked as an administrative assistant for Piedmont Unified School District.  Earl preceded her in death April 7, 1980.  She later married John Richard Osborne November 20, 1988 in Dublin, CA.  Velma moved to Colorado in 2016.  During her life, she was active in various Police Auxiliaries, volunteering with the American Red Cross when she resided in Colorado, interior decorating, volunteered with Mended Hearts and Shepherds Gate Thrift Store in Livermore, CA.  She was active in the Newcomers Club, Red Hat Society, and a member of the Grace Lutheran Church in Parker, CO.  

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Earl Hering, son, Clinton Hering, siblings, Walter Constien, Ludina Schmidt, Elsie Bray, Della Ainsworth, and Letha Priddy Brown.  

Survivors include, her husband Richard Osborne of Santa Rosa, CA; daughter, Kelly Hering-Rank and her husband Stephan of Parker, CO; three grandchildren, Elisabeth Rank of Honolulu, HI, and Harrison and Katherine Rank both of Parker, CO; brother, Earl of Sheboygan, WI and Edna Wiser of Sulphur, OK; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  

Services:  St. John’s Lutheran Church, Friday, 2:00 PM, May 7, 2021, Hinton, OK with Rev. Orval Peters officiating.  

Burial:  Hinton Cemetery, Hinton, OK
