Lorena Witt Obituary

Lorena Frances “Fran” Witt was born on March 17, 1922 in Hydro, OK, to Herman Peter and Lena (Pauls) Nachtigall.  She passed away on May 6, 2020 in Shawnee, OK at the age of 98. Fran attended Mounds Country School and then graduated from Hinton High School.  After graduation Fran went to work as a waitress.  While working in the cafe she met a young man named Walter Witt.  They started dating and married on October 12, 1940 in Hydro, OK.  The couple moved into Hinton where Fran worked in the home raising their family. They moved to a farm that they rented of Hinton for 7-8 years before buying the homeplace in 1949.  Fran and Walter farmed peanuts there.  Walter and Fran purchased the Troll place and expanded their farming operation.  In 1969, they went to California and retired in the mid 1970’s to Henryetta, OK.  In the early 1980’s, they moved to Arizona.  After Walter's passing, Fran moved a few more times before settling into Shawnee Colonial Estates, where she has lived for the past 5 years.  Fran was saved and knew and served the Lord faithfully.  She was baptized at the First Christian Church in Hinton.

 

Survivors Include: her children, Mike Witt and wife Beth of Henryetta, OK, and Thyra Austin and husband Dan of McLoud, OK,  grandchildren, Randall William Eason of Shawnee, OK, Kimberly Anne Burnett of Joplin, MO, Danny Dean Austin and wife Tammy of Moore, OK, and Trenton Austin and wife Keri of Edmond, OK, Walter Michael Witt, Jr. of McLoud, OK, Sheila Kay Witt Williams and husband Tim Williams, III, of Henryetta, OK, and Nicole Lorene Witt Blood and husband Dean Blood of Henryetta, OK, great-children, Tommy Karr of Moore, OK, Adam Karr of Nixa, MO, Brenden Hamilton of Dewar, OK, Anthony Hamilton of Henryetta, OK, Hannah Hamilton of Henryetta, OK, Kaylah Craig of Henryetta, OK and Kelsey Crabtree of Henryetta, OK, Cynthia Austin of California, Daniel Austin of Moore, OK, Samuel Austin of Moore, OK, Addison Silva and husband Fernando of Edmond, OK, Kailee Austin of McLoud, OK, Chandler Austin of Edmond, OK, and Tess Austin of McLoud, OK and 16 great-great grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. 

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Lena Nachtigall, husband, Walter Witt, Daughter and Son in Law, Sandra Witt Morgan and Orville Morgan,  Sister, Arvella Mock and her husband Chub, brother, Herman Nactigall and his wife Virginia , grandson, Denny Joe Eason, great granddaughter, Madison Grace Blood, and granddaughter in law, Cheryl Eason .
