Joseph James Mulhearn was born on April 26, 1955 in Chicago, IL to Joseph Vincent and Joan Marie (Firtik) Mulhearn. He passed away on July 18, 2020 in Kingfisher, OK at the age of 65. Joseph graduated from JFK High School in Chicago, IL and graduated from Triton Junior College, where he received his Chef’s License in State/International Chef’s License. Joseph traveled quite a bit; he lived in Florida for 20 years and moved to Oklahoma in 2008. Joseph enjoyed golfing, scuba diving, watching sports especially the Chicago Cubs; enjoyed trips to Wrigley Field with his father. At age 15, his first job was as a golf caddy; his father introduced him to his first cooking job at the Flame Restaurant in Chicago. He worked for Tony Roma’s Restaurants, where he was in charge of 6 restaurants from West Palm Beach to Miami, Fl. The President of Specialty Restaurants asked Joseph to move to Grand Cayman to open up the first restaurant for the company. He married Amy Diane West on July 16, 2011 in Thomas, OK. He always called Amy “Cupcake”.
Survivors Include: his wife, Amy Mulhearn of Kingfisher, OK, his twin step-daughters, Patricia Irene West and Jenni Lynn West, his grandson, Kagan Dane Mooney, his sister, Mary Kay Clark and husband John, and his brother, Kevin Mulhearn and wife Carol, his father and mother in law, Kim and Diane West of Greenfield, OK, as well as many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Joan “Ma” Mulhearn.
