Joseph Charles "J.C." Carroll was born December 16, 1931 to Joseph Patrick, "Joe" and Ethel (Wilson) Carroll near Hinton, OK. He attended and graduated from East Walnut School near Hinton, OK. After graduation J.C. attended welding school. He married his high school sweetheart, Vonda Sanders on May 2, 1952 at the Wickline Methodist Church in Midwest City. The couple lived for a short time in Wichita, KS and in Midwest City before returning to Canadian County. J.C. farmed and custom cut wheat and was a heli-arch welder for Aero Commander/North American Rockwell Bethany for 18 years. J.C. was a devoted member of First Baptist Church in Hinton, where he has served faithfully for many years. He enjoyed bowling with the Hinton Seniors Bowling Team, traveling with the seniors at FBC Hinton. J.C. Served on the Sugar Creek Ambulance Board as a representative for southwestern Canadian County for several years until he resigned due to health reasons. He and Vonda recently celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary. He was a kind and loving husband, father and grandfather.
J.C. is survived by his wife Vonda of the home in Hinton, OK, daughter, Jana Wilds and husband David of Yukon, OK, 7 grandchildren, Jared Wilds and wife Sarah of Houston, TX, Robert Carroll and wife Jamie of El Reno, OK, Audra Carroll Rider and Rich of Norman, OK, Sarah Carroll and fiancé Cody Wells of Washington, OK, Amanda Carroll Creson and husband Clint of Yukon, OK and Julie Carroll of Moore, OK, 13 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great granddaughter, 1 sister, Edna Glenn of Del City, OK, as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
J.C. was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Ethel Carroll, son, Jerry Carroll, granddaughter, Emily Kay Wilds, siblings, Gordon Carroll, Agnes Hoselton, and Helen Brackett, sister-in-law, Juanita Carroll, nieces, Vicky Harvey and Pat Cadell and nephew, Dwayne Hoselton.
