Jay Turner Rinehart

Jay Turner Rinehart was born on June 3, 1948 in Houston, TX and was later adopted by Alva Frederick and Wilda (Mills) Rinehart. Jay passed away at his home on Saturday, January 30, 2021 in Yukon, OK at the age of 72. Jay was raised in Geary, OK and graduated from Geary High School.  He graduated from Oklahoma Christian College with a bachelor’s degree. Many things were important to Jay, but uppermost was God, his faith, his family. Jay also had a passion for Lariat Creek Christian Camp. He felt very strongly about his love of country. Jay was a junior high and high school teacher, where he taught history and psychology in the Geary Public Schools. He was also a farmer who loved his Hereford cattle, his many animals, especially his dogs. He really loved history and was very philosophical, as well as loving to talk and sing.  He enjoyed snow skiing and water skiing and spending his time with his family. He will be greatly missed by all those who loved him.

Survivors include: his wife Christine of Yukon, OK, his children, Stacey Rinehart Cannon and husband Norman of Yukon, OK, and Jordan Rinehart and wife Callie of Yukon, OK, his grandchildren, Eli Cannon, Chase Cannon, Camryn Rinehart, and Lincoln Rinehart all of Yukon, OK, his brother Herman Newman of Jackson, TX, his nieces and nephews, Toby Mills, Rachel Mulherin, Julie Eggleston, and David Newman, as well as many other relatives and friends.  

Jay preceded in death by his parents, Alva and Wilda Rinehart, his uncles, Ted Mills and Dalton Rinehart.
