Gwen (Webb) Gillett

Gwendolyn Faye “Gwen” Gillett was born July 27, 1947, in Guthrie, OK, to Charles and Irene (Lute) Webb.  She passed away Wednesday, May 10, 2023, in Edmond, OK at the age of 75.  She graduated from Guthrie High School and received an associate degree from Redland’s Community College in El Reno, OK.  She married Michael Gillett on September 17, 1966, in Guthrie, OK.  The couple moved to Winfield, KS, for four years and then moved back to Guthrie where Gwen worked as a librarian at an elementary school.  She and Mike moved to Geary in 1988.  They owned and operated Gillett Foods for several years before Gwen had an in-home daycare. Gwen loved reading, gardening, and baking.  She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Geary where she helped with VBS.  At First Baptist church in Geary she served as a Sunday school teacher, and took teens to Fall’s Creek.  She loved her grandchildren and enjoyed tea parties, making mud pies, and cooking with them.  She loved decorating her home for every holiday.      

Gwen is survived by her 3 children, Bryan Gillett and wife Marsha of Yukon, OK, Jennifer Barrett and husband Jeremy of Mustang, OK, and Jeff Gillett and wife Crystal of Covington, OK, 7 grandchildren, Allan- Michael Gillett and wife Ashley of OKC, OK, Noah Gillett and Morgan of Moore, OK, Meadow and Ivey Barrett of Mustang, OK, and Kensley, Jayli and Whitley Gillett all of Covington, OK, and one great grandchild, Jensen Gillett of Moore, OK, and one sister, Katheryn Feken and husband Eddie of Perry, OK, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and a host of friends. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Irene Webb, husband Mike Gillett and 5 siblings, Lynn, Burrell, Charles, Bill and Doyle Webb. 

Memorial donations: Oklahoma Parkinson’s Alliance in Gwen’s memory and go visit someone, hug them and tell them that you love them.

Services: 3PM, Monday, May 15, 2023, First United Methodist Church, Geary, OK
