Elmer "Buddy" Reo Bedea

Elmer Reo “Buddy” Bedea was born on March 11, 1946, in Wetumka, OK to Thomas and Caldonie (Wilder) Bedea. He passed away on Sunday, June 27, 2021, at his home in Hydro, OK at the age of 75.  Elmer grew up in the Wetumka/Manitou, OK area. In his early 50’s he met the love of his life, Jackie Farrell.  The couple made their home near Ft. Cobb Lake for 23 years.  He ran a mechanic shop in Manitou until he moved to the Hydro/Eakly area where he farmed. Buddy loved to drive tractors, work on small motors and tinkered with cars. He owned a ’55 Desoto that he loved to take to car shows, where he did lots of winning. He enjoyed hunting and fishing at Cobb Creek and at the Washita River. He attended Oakdale Missionary Baptist Church in Lookeba, OK.

Survivors include: his wife, Jackie Farrell of the home in Hydro, OK, his children, Dale Bedea and wife Nikki of Canute, OK, Sarah Vetten of Peru, IN, Barbara Farrell and Jarrell Morris of Eakly, OK, Tracy Farrell of Atoka, OK, Casey Kruger and Allen of Grove, OK, and Shalina Tanner and Bone of Jay, OK, 19 grandchildren, and 1 more on the way, 14 great grandchildren, as well as many other relatives and friends.  

Elmer was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Caldonie Bedea, his sisters, Sarah, Lola, and Bonnie, his brothers, Thomas and Junior Bedea.   

Services: Oakdale Missionary Baptist Church, Wednesday, 2:00 PM, June 30, 2021, Lookeba, OK

Officiating: Mr. Lonnie King

Burial: Mound Valley Cemetery, Hydro, OK
