Danny Lee Sharry

Danny Lee Sharry was born on January 29, 1944 in Carnegie, OK to Orby Lee and Lima Jean (Jackson) Sharry. He passed away on April 7, 2021 in OKC, OK at the age of 77. He attended school in Colony and finished High School in Eakly graduating in 1962. Danny married Linda Sue Schmidt on October 5, 1962 in Carnegie, OK.  The couple made their home in the Eakly area.  Danny began farming peanuts and wheat and raised cattle. Over the years he farmed a variety of crops including watermelon, cabbage, and soybeans.  He really appreciated a straight row of peanuts. Danny owned and operated a successful sod business for many years.  He loved deer hunting, tinkering with old tractors, and watching old westerns. He faithfully served on Eakly Volunteer Fire Department for 17 years. He was a member of the Eakly Round Up Club. Danny was saved and baptized in the First Baptist Church of Eakly. He gladly helped anyone that was in need, he would give the shirt off his back.

Survivors include: his wife, Linda Sharry of Eakly, OK, his children, Monty Sharry and wife Sharla of Eakly, OK, and Marty Sharry and wife Paula of Hinton, OK, his grandchildren, Layton Sharry and wife Kelsey, Sierra Sharry, Jackson Sharry, and Turner Sharry and wife Stormi, his great grandchildren, Taos Smith, Crosslyn Gracia, and Crosby Sharry, his siblings, Larry Sharry of Ft. Cobb, OK, Margie Hamilton and husband Butch of Anadarko, OK, and Lorene Mills of Hinton, OK, as well as many other relatives and friends.  

Danny was preceded in death by his parents, Orby and Lima Sharry, his granddaughter, McKyna Sharry Gracia, his siblings, Curt Sharry, Corene Osborn, his in-laws, Alfred J. and Melba Ray (Skinner) Schmidt and his brother-in-law, Larry Mills.
