Col. Donald Justice Obituary

Col. Donald H. (Don) Justice was born September 22, 1939, in Watonga, OK, to Harold E. and Zora (Duncan) Justice.  He passed away Monday, January 20, 2020, at the Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City, OK at the age of 80.  Don graduated from Greenfield High School in 1957.  He attended Oklahoma State University and joined the ROTC program while there.  Don graduated from Oklahoma State University in May of 1961 with a bachelor’s degree in education. He immediately began his military career after graduation.  Don joined the USAF and was commissioned as an officer in August of 1961.  Don earned a master’s degree from Central Michigan University in 1974.  He served a total of 27 years, was a Vietnam War Veteran, and retired from the Pentagon in Washington D.C. in 1984 as a Colonel in the United States Air Force.   Don married Edna Faye Heisler on July 30, 1981 in DeRidder, LA.  He returned to Watonga in 1984 and bought Justice Real Estate.  Don was an active member of the Masonic Lodge #176, Lions Club, Shriners, Young at Heart, Watonga Chamber of Commerce, and Greenfield Alumni Association.  He served as a Deacon as well as Sunday School teacher at First Baptist Church, Watonga, and took great pride in supporting Oklahoma Baptist Homes for Children.  Don was a Republican, he enjoyed cattle ranching, was an avid coin collector, and master of getting vehicles stuck.  He loved being outdoors, enjoyed traveling and OSU football.  Don was a family man, and his greatest joy was spending time with his family.     

Survivors include, 4 children, Derek Justice and wife Melissa of Gilbert, AZ, Lisa Rawls and Dale Berger of Springboro, OH, Michael Ewing and wife Jill of Spring Hill, KS, and Bryan Justice and wife Scarlet of Ennis, TX, 10 grandchildren, Chris Voris, Derek C. Justice and wife Chelsea, Abby Stricker and husband Robert, Nathan Justice and wife Amanda, Drew Ewing, Brenna Ewing, Andyn Justice, Connor Justice, Colton Justice, Cooper Justice, 2 great grandchildren, Morgan Mae and Ike Edward Justice, and sister, Betty J. Chapman of Watonga as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

 

Don was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Zora Justice, wife, Edna Justice and brother, Eugene Justice.

 

In lieu of flowers, Don’s family request that donations be made in his memory to Watonga Lions Club or Oklahoma Baptist Homes for Children, 3800 N. May Ave, OKC, OK 73112.
