Clifford McDonald (Don Koons) Sloan was born on April 10, 1932 in Burneyville, OK to Clifford Clayburn and Idell (Koons) Sloan. He passed away on February 7, 2021 in Fay, OK at the age of 88. Don attended Central High School in OKC, OK. He served in the US Army National Guard and the 45th Artillery in the Korean Conflict. He married Claudine Massey on December 12, 1953 in OKC, OK. They lived in Kansas, New Mexico, California, and back to Oklahoma. They moved to Hinton in 1966 and moved to the Lookeba-Sickles area until 1995, then moved to the Watonga area. Don worked as a carpenter, worked in the maintenance at the Lookeba-Sickles Schools. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and listening to music. He was a member of the El Reno American Legion, and a member of the Church of Christ in Wild Goose Acres. Don was baptized into the Church of Christ while in the Service.
Survivors Include: his wife, Claudine Sloan of Fay, OK, his daughters: Donna Grace Koons King and husband Donny of Hot Springs, AR, Betty Ann Koons Davis of Watonga, OK, and Laura Jane Sloan of Willis, TX; 7 grandchildren: Amy Deason and husband Shawn, Jenny Russell, Jerod Davis and wife Renata, Joeie Davis and fiancé Blaise Withrow, Lindsay England and husband John, Josh Sloan, and Suzy Lewis and husband Keith, 12 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild, his sister, Kathryn Massey of Dibble, OK, as well as many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford Sloan and Idell Koons, and 2 grandsons, Ethan and Jacob Davis, his son in law, Hoiet Davis.
