Bonnie Lee Bailey Obituary

Our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend, Bonnie Mashaney Bailey returned home to her Heavenly Father on February 16th 2021 in Corn, Oklahoma. Bonnie was born in Bridgeport, Oklahoma on January 18, 1934 to Walter and Edna (Mauldin) Mashaney. On September 9, 1950, she married Leroy Bailey in Clovis, NM. She worked beside him on the family farm raising peanut, wheat, and watermelon crops in addition to cattle. The two were blessed with four children, Glenda, Denise, Clendon and Ron. Bonnie raised her children with love and devotion. Ms. Bonnie, as many knew her to be, retired from the Washita Valley Community Head Start. She served thirty plus years instilling a foundation for learning among children. Her head start kids were treated as if they were one of her own. Many of her students (young and old) would frequent her house at Halloween for her famous popcorn balls. Bonnie was a member of the Sickles Community Church where she was a faithful servant. She enjoyed helping with the church paper, Bible and Sunday School, and being a part of the kitchen staff providing funeral meals and preparing Thanksgiving Dinner for the community. Bonnie had many hobbies. She enjoyed working puzzles of all sorts and best believe she watched every Thunder game that was televised. She also enjoyed quilting and cherished the time she spent with her “quilting ladies”. Attending the grandkids and great grandkids activities was at the top of Grandma BB’s list. They were the highlight of her life.

She is survived by her daughter, Denise Hart and husband LeRoy of Lookeba, OK, sons; Clendon Bailey and wife Kathy of Chattanooga, OK and Ron Bailey of Lookeba, OK, son in law, Darrell Long of Lookeba, OK,  grandchildren, Danessa Krasser and husband Levi of Chattanooga, OK, Dadrian Long of Yukon, OK, Tina Morrison and husband Tony of Chattanooga, OK, Jarrett Bailey of Lawton, OK, Kyra Boler and husband Landin of Yukon, OK, and Karissa Hart of Oklahoma City, OK, great grandchildren, Kenli and Kenzi Krasser, Brody and Bentley Morrison, Isabella (Izzy) and Ivy Boler, brother in law, Glenn Bailey and 2 sisters in law, Alice Mashaney and Mary Bailey as well as other family and friends.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy Bailey, parents, Walter and Edna Mashaney, daughter, Glenda Long, 3 brothers, Roy, Marvin, and Jim Mashaney, 4 sisters, Naeoma Parks, Faye Blaine, Lois Parks, and Jeannie Walbaum-Boren.

Our deepest appreciation to Corn Heritage and Rehabilitation at Corn and to Russell-Murray Hospice for the care you have given to Bonnie the past year.
