Mary Agnes (Morelock) Murray

Mary Agnes Murray was born April 16, 1937 in Hinton, OK to Gordon Alfred and Mabel Etta (Kysar) Morelock.  She passed away Thursday, October 31, 2019 at her home in Hinton, OK at the age of 82.  Mary graduated from Hinton High School in the Class of 1955.  She married Hugh Lambert on April 16, 1957 in Hinton, OK, and the couple moved to Midwest City, OK.  From there they moved to Pink, OK, where they worked as caretakers and camp managers for the Oklahoma Christian Service Camp for 15 years.   After their employment at the camp, back to Hinton.  Mary enjoyed sewing, puzzles, and crafts.  She was an excellent cook.  She baked wedding cakes for many couples’ special day.  She owned and operated Mockingbird Hill Café with her sister Linda Taylor and was an active member of the First Christian Church in Hinton, OK. 

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Mabel Morelock, husband, Hugh Lambert, brothers-in-law, Ray Marrow and Raymond Lambert and sister-in-law, Lona Kay Morelock.

Survivors include; 3 children, Melodie Carr and Byron of Guthrie, OK, Wesley Lambert and wife Kathy of OKC, OK, and Brandon Lambert and wife Mercedes of Hinton, OK, 11 grandchildren; Stewart Lambert,      

Lauren Oyeniran, Shannon Miller, Stephanie East, Rachel Carr, Joel Carr, Ashley Smith, William Dawkins, Colton Dawkins, Cami and Sofi Lambert, 12 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild and one on the way, 5 siblings; Jane Marrow of Guthrie,   OK, Iva Lambert of Hinton, OK, Linda Taylor and husband Willard of Hinton, OK, Alfred “Buck” Morelock of Hinton, OK, and James Morelock and Betty of Hinton, OK, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Burial:  Niles Cemetery, Hinton, Oklahoma under the direction of Turner Funeral Home, Hinton, OK
