Obituary of Lorraine R. Mach

 

Lorraine Ruth Mach was born to Paul H. and Minnie Louise (Beuthien) Mach near the town of Winside, Nebraska, February 11, 1931. Several years later, the family moved back to Watonga, Oklahoma, and then to the Mach Family Farm near the town of Omega. She graduated from the Omega High School in 1949 and started working in the Blaine County Courthouse on October 1, 1950, in the Office of the Court Clerk. She worked as a Deputy Court Clerk for 27 years and then was appointed Court Clerk in 1977 and held office for 12 years, retiring in 1989. Lorraine served Blaine County for 39 years. She held many offices in the Court Clerk's Association, the Oklahoma Retired County Officers, Deputies and Employees Association, and was President of the Retired Court Clerk's Association. After retirement she traveled extensively including to all 50 States, several foreign countries such as Canada, Mexico, France, Italy, Germany, England, Scotland, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, the Caribbean Islands, and Panama Canal. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Church and was a devout member of the Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church of Watonga. She served her church as treasurer, Trustee, Organist, Sunday School Teacher, Lutheran Women's Missionary League, and as Secretary to the Pastor. She had many hobbies including crocheting, tole painting, and sewing quilt tops. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary of Watonga. Lorraine Mach passed away on February 13, 2019, at the age of 88.

 

She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Darrell and Dorothy Mach of Frankfort, KY; numerous cousins, including Leroy and Ruth Lage of Watonga, OK; eight nieces and nephews: Dorothy Sponsol, Susan Peck, Sam Peck, Sidney Peck, Douglas Mach, Daniel Mach, Deanna Mills, and Margaret Seaman; her good and wonderful traveling partner, Pauline Ice of Fay, OK; as well as many other relatives and friends.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Minnie Mach, brother, Albert Mach, and sister, Esther Peck.

 

Memorials may be given to: Camp Lutherhaven in care of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, 621 N. Leach, Watonga, OK 73772, and/or Pets and People, PO Box 850587, Yukon, OK 73085-0587.

 

Viewing will be from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Friday, February 15, 2019, at the Turner Funeral Home in Geary, OK.
