Janey Trent Obituary

Janey Lynn Wilson was the only child born to Ed Wilson and Ruth Reynolds on February 23, 1945 in El Reno Hospital.  She attended OKC Public Schools.  On October 27, 1962, she and Winston Trent were joined together in Holy Matrimony followed by 56 years, 9 months of wedded bliss.  On March 13, 1964 they welcomed a son, Joe Kevan Trent.  They welcomed a second son, Jobey Kent Trent on October 23, 1968.  The family lived in many Oklahoma town where Winston was a teacher and coach of multiple sports.  The first of which was Mountain Park in 1967/68.  Janey was saved and baptized at the First Baptist Church in Mountain Park.  In 1968 the family moved to Fargo, OK.  From 1969-72 they lived in Canton, OK.  From 1972-74 they lived in Drummond, OK.  Janey was Winston’s biggest fan and supporter and #1 critic throughout his teaching and coaching career.  In 1974 the family moved to Weatherford where she started working at the family’s long- time business.  In 1982 Winston and Janey started an oilfield business, Starbright, Inc.  In 1986 they moved the prospering business to Wilberton, OK.  In 1994 they moved to Carnegie, OK where Winston started teaching and coaching again.  In 2009 Janey’s health started deteriorating and she had multiple surgeries with major complications which made her homebound.  Winston retired in 2012 to become her caregiver.  Their son Kevan came in 2017 to help with the caregiving after the untimely death of Jobey.  She came under the care of hospice in July 2019.  She passed away at home, Saturday, August 3, at 1:30PM with Winston and Kevan by her side.  Janey loved all of the things she and Winston did; fishing, camping, hunting, dancing from the beginning of Rock and Roll at The Geary Teen Hop all the way through Country Western Dance. 

 

Janey was preceded in death by her mother Ruth Keller, her father, Ed Wilson, her maternal grandparents, Homer and Ethyl Reynolds, her 2nd born son, Jobey Kent Trent, her father and mother in law, L.W. and Nena Trent, several aunts and 1 uncle. 

 

She is survived by her husband Winston, her son Kevan, her grandchildren Jillian, Laken, Dylan, Ashton, and Devin, her aunt Joy Oakes, many cousins including Debbie Findley, Kelly Byrd, Lisa Hodges, Kathy Peck, Becky Hagar, Grant Foster, Kim Wright and Julie Matthews, brother and sisters in law, Luke Wendell and Linda Trent, her half sister Cindy Coulton.

 

Janey’s personality and piercing blue eyes and infections smile was known by all who knew her.  Many people loved Janey.  To meet her was to love her.
