Claudie Lee Clyburn was born on August 26, 1940 to Claude S. and Edna Lee (King) Clyburn. He passed away on November 3, 2019 at the age of 79. He graduated from Hinton High School, and then went on to marry Jo Ellen Jones on May 1, 1959 in Watonga, OK. They have been married for 60 years. The two moved to Oklahoma City, then moved back to Geary in 1966. Claudie was a Jack of All Trades. He could do just about anything, but he really enjoyed welding and carpentry. Claudie was a good musician and played bass in the Band Country Roads for many years. He passed his love of playing music down to his grandchildren. Claudie enjoyed many hobbies including; gardening, fishing, hunting, making wine, watching westerns, collecting marbles, camping, and cooking. Claudie loved his dogs and animals and enjoyed his life. Claudie never met a stranger and he would do without to help someone in need.
Survivors Include: his wife, Jo Ellen Clyburn of Geary, OK, his children, Jill Sorrels of Geary, OK, Randy Wayne Clyburn and wife Debra of Geary, OK, and Vickie Hardee and husband Travis of Calumet, OK, his grandchildren: Jeremy Knight and wife Lacey of Choctaw, OK, Glen Knight and wife Natalie of Deer Creek, OK, Will Knight and Shelley Godwin of Enid, OK, Cody Sorrels of Weatherford, OK, Courtney Sorrels and Mark Ferguson of Geary, OK, Brandy Davis and husband Chris of Mustang, OK, Joshua Clyburn and wife Gloria of Blanchard, OK, Christafer Clyburn of Yukon, OK, Daniel Columbus of Connerville, OK, Lisa Hulsey and husband Dylan of Moore, OK, Travis Lawson of Tulsa, OK, Ashley McGill and husband Michael of Mustang, OK, and Ryder Thompson of Calumet, OK, his great grandchildren: Tricia, Chandler, Danin, Ryland, Rylan, Cash, Brayden, Dreyan, Parker, Dawson, Raidyne, John II, Alex, Ashley, Jack, Julynne, Leah, Aubrey, Brooke, Lexie, and his great great grandchild, Henry Lee, as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Edna Clyburn, his brother, Allen Clyburn, and his sisters, Bebe Brown and Patty Jo Armstrong, his grandson, Alex Ray, and his son in law, Steve Sorrels.
