Wilma Jean (Williams) Tarrant Obituary

Wilma Jean Tarrant was born on December 27, 1932, in Binger, Oklahoma, to Robert Johnson Williams and Goldie (Bowlegs) Williams. She passed away on June 16, 2025, in Binger at the age of 92. Wilma grew up in Binger, she began her education at Centerville School in Binger and continued at Central School in Oklahoma City. She went on to attend Blackwood Business College in Oklahoma City, where she earned her business certification. After graduation, she worked as a secretary for an attorney in Borger, TX before beginning a long career with the State of Oklahoma in vocational rehabilitation, from which she eventually retired. Wilma lived a vibrant and active life. She had a deep love for bowling and shared that passion with her children and grandchildren, teaching them the sport and traveling across the country with them to participate in women’s national bowling tournaments—from Las Vegas to destinations across the U.S. Her adventurous spirit extended to her love of travel. She especially enjoyed trips to Laughlin, Nevada and the Colorado Belle, fondly recalling a ride in a glass-bottomed boat as one of her favorite memories. Wilma also enjoyed scrapbooking, often spending hours crafting treasured keepsakes, and was known to enjoy the nickel slots at the casino for a bit of fun. Wilma was a proud member of the Caddo Nation of Oklahoma and sat on the enrollment committee for many years Her warmth, humor, and love of family will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Wilma’s life was a beautiful journey full of love, laughter, and memories that will be cherished forever.


She is survived by her two daughters, Teresa Keller of Binger, Oklahoma, and Janice Moore of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; six grandsons, Justin Brown, Joshua Haun, Daniel Haun, Joseph Moore, Randy Keller, and Jesse Keller; and two great-grandsons, Anthony Brown and James Robert “Biscuit” Keller. She is also survived by her niece Cynthia Palmer of Moore, Oklahoma; her nephew Robert Palmer of Binger, Oklahoma; her niece Taisha Decker of Colorado; as well as many other relatives and dear friends.


Wilma was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Goldie Williams; her husband, Thomas Tarrant; her son, Michael Brown; her sister, Letha Palmer; and her son-in-law, Kenneth Keller.


Funeral services will be held at the Caddo Cultural Building in Binger, Oklahoma, on Thursday, 10:00 AM, June 19, 2025. Reverend Leonard Kionute will officiate. Burial will follow at Murray Cemetery in Binger.  services are under the direction of Turner Funeral Home, Hinton, OK.
