Wilma Jean (Tackett) Pack Obituary

Wilma Jean (Tackett) Pack was born on May 25, 1941 in Oney, Oklahoma to Clint and Daphna (Willis) Tackett. Wilma passed away on July 11, 2025 at her home in Oney at the age of 84.

Wilma was the middle of three girls. She grew up on a rural farm northwest of Albert/Oney where she attended school. She grew up like all farm girls did in the mid-century. She helped her family farm, garden, milk, cows, and work cattle.  Some of her fondest memories growing up were going fishing with her dad. She always remembered and loved telling the story of being a child and her and her dad putting sacks around their feet and going rabbit hunting in the snow with greyhounds.  She loved to play basketball at Oney high school. She met Cecil Pack and they were married on January 12, 1958.  Together they raised five sons and were very active in the community.  As the sons began their adult lives and started families of their own, Wilma welcomed the daughter-in-law‘s into the family with open arms of love.  She loved her family and got excited as it began to expand.  Her grandkids and great grandkids pictures filled the walls of her home along with her Elvis Presley pictures of course!  She was an avid sports fan. She loved her OU Sooners. Her favorite sport was OU softball.  As her health began to decline, she was able to watch her OKC Thunder team win the NBA title. She could tell you the history of every thunder player and what previous players played for them.  Her last six weeks on earth were spent at home under the care of her family. She always told the nursing personnel that she was blessed to have her family. She was loved by everyone who knew her.

Survivors Include: her children, Cecil Dean Pack and wife Debbie of Albert, OK, Kenneth Pack and wife Jacque of Gracemont, OK, David Pack and wife Ronda of Albert, OK, Clint Pack and wife Phyllis of Oney, OK, and Shanon Pack and wife Staci of Hinton, OK, Jack Smith and wife Sonya of Elgin, OK, numerous grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, her sister, Dana Carter and husband Brian of NC, and brother-in-law Glenn Bailey of Binger, OK, as well as many other relatives and friends.
