Wilma Dean Lierle was born on December 15, 1943, in Hydro, Oklahoma, to Vonnie Lee and Laura Ethel (Smith) Magar. She passed away on January 29, 2026, in Weatherford, Oklahoma, at the age of 82. Wilma grew up in Hydro and lived there her entire life. On November 17, 1959, she married Bill N. Lierle in Hydro, Oklahoma. Together they built a life centered around family, community, and hard work. Wilma worked at the Hydro Food Mart for 25 years, back when it was a small grocery store with only four or five aisles. She truly did it all — from stocking shelves and running the register to working as a butcher. She was known for her strong work ethic and willingness to help wherever she was needed. She worked as the City Clerk for the City of Hydro for 30 years as well. Wilma was famous for her baking, especially her cookies and homemade bread. Family often joked that the grandchildren could smell her cookies baking because they always seemed to arrive right on time. While baking together, Wilma and the kids sang their special song: “Don’t eat all the morsels or your cookies will be bald.” She was lovingly known by many names — first Grandma Mo, and later Meme, a nickname given by some of her grandchildren. Wilma and Bill rarely missed a ballgame. They traveled wherever their children and grandchildren were playing, always showing their unwavering support. Later in life, Wilma fulfilled her dream of having a little dog. She named her Prissy — who was anything but prissy — and she adored her, as did Bill. In her later years, Wilma enjoyed attending water aerobics at the YMCA three days a week, where she made many close friends. After class, coffee and dessert became a favorite tradition. She cherished her few trips she was able to make with her sister Avis to Colorado and their Thursday morning phone visits.Wilma enjoyed going on vacations with her son and daughter-in-law, Brad and Janie.   Above all else, Wilma loved her family. Her kindness, laughter, and devotion will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Wilma was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hydro and was baptized as a young lady on December 5th, 1954. She continued attending throughout her life  

She is survived by her son, Brad Lierle and wife Janie of Lookeba; her daughter, Laura Marshall and husband Bernie of Hydro; her grandchildren, Brandon Lierle and wife Brittani of Eakly, Brandt Lierle and wife Melanie of Phoenix, Arizona, Brayden Lierle and wife Cierra of Altus, Bryson Lierle and wife Mikayla of Yukon, BreeAnna Lierle and Marquis Carter of Midwest City, Taylor Lierle of Weatherford, Tori Marshall of Del City, Teah Marshall and Alex Martinez of Weatherford and Lindsey Clift of Elgin; her great-grandchildren, Brooklyn, Brighton, Neil, Liam, Remington, Sawyer, Neily, Kaylar, Larkin, Brian Ty, Bentley, Tre, Indie, Jax, and Luca; her sister, Avis Dix of Oklahoma City;her brother-in-law, Harold Magee, and her sister-in-law, Judy Brown, along with many other relatives and friends.

Wilma was preceded in death by her parents, Vonnie and Ethel Magar; her husband, Bill Lierle; her son, Brian Lierle; and her sister, Beth Magee.

Funeral services will be held at the Hydro First Baptist Church on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. Reverend Joe Sanders will officiate. Burial will follow at the Hydro Masonic Cemetery in Hydro, Oklahoma.
