William Jasper (Bill) Seitter was born September 4, 1933 to Christopher Nelson and Luella (James) Seitter in Geary, OK. He passed away Saturday, July 22, 2023 at Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City at the age of 89. Bill graduated from Geary High School where he excelled in Football, Basketball, and Baseball. He received a scholarship from Northern Oklahoma College in Tonkawa where Bill played football. He served in the U.S. Marine Corp during the Korean Conflict from 1953 to 1956. He was united in marriage to Jean Louise Lung February 22, 1958 at Jean’s parents home in Oakwood, OK. They made a home in Greenfield, Oklahoma that was a dairy that they ran and operated. Shortly thereafter they moved to Diamond, Missouri and was operating another dairy. The cattle contracted bangs which caused them to have to sell the cattle and farm and move back to Greenfield, Oklahoma. After two years they once again moved back to Mount Vernon, Missouri and started another dairy and ran that dairy until 1975. They moved back to Oklahoma where Bill ran heavy equipment in the Oil and Gas Industry and for Blaine County District 1, and also worked as a farmer. He was a member of the Watonga Masonic Lodge #176 and the Greenfield Baptist Church. He also served as a board member of the Greenfield Public Schools in the 1980’s. He enjoyed playing cards, with family and friends, especially pitch. At one time Dad and Bill even won a pitch tournament and received trophies. He loved taking care of his cattle and spending time with family and friends, especially his coffee drinking buddies at the north store in Geary.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Chris Seitter, and Luella and George Strong, brother Dick Seitter, brother-in-law, Lee Underwood, two sisters-in-law, Ellen Lung and Doris Seitter, and aunt, Madeline Keathly.
Survivors include, his wife Jean Seitter of the home; three children, Cheryl Diane McCrite and husband Mickey of Weatherford, Bill Seitter and wife Lisa of Watonga, and Mary McDugle and husband Kevin of Broken Arrow, OK; grandchildren, Sarah Hill of Greenfield, Rhett Hill and wife Chelse of Clinton, Koby Anderson and husband Eric of Norman, Lane Hicks and Tucker Hicks both of Geary; great grandchildren, Megan Luke and husband Billy of Weatherford, Madeline Williams of Clinton, Marli Hill, Ryan Hill, Acre Foley, and Addison Foley all of Clinton, and Grayson and Rayden Anderson of Norman; great-great grandchildren, Ava and Billy Wallace Luke III of Weatherford; and many other relatives and friends.
