William "Pete" Peter Reding Obituary

William Peter “Pete” Reding was born on June 29, 1947 in Geary, Ok to Albert Peter and Mary Alberta (Brack) Reding. Pete passed away on November 18, 2025 in Ardmore, OK at the age of 78. He grew up in Geary, OK and graduated from Geary High School in 1966 where he earned a State Champion wrestling title. After high school, Pete moved to Washington on a wrestling scholarship and married Sherry. They then moved back to Oklahoma where they had their son, Jason. Shortly thereafter, Pete moved the family to California and started private wrestling lessons and started a successful wrestling program there. They eventually returned to Oklahoma when their daughter Gina was born. Pete joined Mustang Fuel Corp in 1974, where he quickly worked his way up to the position of Calumet Superintendent, a role in which he excelled and continued to hold under Enogex Corp.
During this time, with help of friends he also started a popular Geary PeeWee Wrestling club where many wrestlers went on to become state qualifiers and champions. His most rewarding coaching was to his son Jason and his friends and classmates. He was proud to have coached his son to two state champion titles and continue the Reding wrestling legacy. He also enjoyed coaching softball and was an all-around excellent coach to youth athletes.

Pete’s hobbies were fishing, flower and vegetable gardening, lawn-work, wrestling, college (OU) football and being with family and friends. He enjoyed special visits to TX for outings with his daughter, Gina and family. And he was very proud of all three of his grandsons. Pete will be missed greatly by all those that loved him.

Survivors Include: his children, Jason Reding of Ardmore, OK and Gina and Jerod Littlefield of Lantana, TX, his grandchildren, Lane Reding, Nate Littlefield, and Trent Littlefield. His nieces Shelly Wilson and Shannon Klaus and nephew Scott Reding. He also left behind special friends, Eric and Martha Hamblin, as well as many other close relatives and friends.

Pete was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Mary Reding, and his brother, Glenn Reding.
