Whitney Jade Torres-Nguyen was born December 15, 1988 to Charles D. and Jeanie J. (Baker) Torres in Oklahoma City, OK. She passed away Thursday January 23, 2020 at her home in Oklahoma City at the age of 31. Whitney graduated from Mount Saint Mary High School in Oklahoma City. She married Tu Nguyen October 22, 2010 in Oklahoma City. After their son Braxton was born, Whitney chose to stay home and raise him. She enjoyed artwork, makeup, jewelry, fashion, all kinds of animals, and most of all being the best wife to Tu and the best mother to Braxton. Most of all she loved spending time with her family, persuading Tu to take her on a date or persuading Jeanie to take her shopping. Whitney had the biggest heart. She was of the Catholic faith and attended St. James the Greater Catholic Church in Oklahoma City.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Jamie Torres, grandmother, June Baker, and Uncle Tony Torres.
Survivors include her husband and son, Tu Nguyen and Braxton Nguyen; parents, Jeanie Torres and Charles Torres all of Oklahoma City; grandparents, Marshall and Karen Baker of El Reno; aunts and uncles, Connie and Scott Murray of Hinton, Linda and Stan Mannschreck of Anadarko, Karen Lovell of Lubbock, TX, Lynn and Sharon Edwards of Paris, TX, and Terry and Sherry Torres of Yukon; Tu’s family, Viet Thi Linh Luu, Du Nguyen, Johnny Nguyen, and Jenny Nguyen all of Yukon; as well as many cousins other relatives and friends.
