Wayne Haws Obituary

Wayne L Haws was born November15, 1939 to Lyle H Haws and Bertha L Webb Haws at home in Washita County, OK. He passed away Monday, November 22, 2022 at his home in Choctaw, OK at the age of 83. He lived in Thomas, OK and Wichita, KS before the family moved to Burns Flat, OK, at the time of his father’s death.

He lived all his school years in Burns Flat, OK. During this time in his young teen years and as the oldest child, helped his mother in making important decisions. As a young man he was baptized into Christ. After high school he moved to Oklahoma City to attend Oklahoma Christian, where he met his wife, Lynette Bridges, they were married on August 14, 1960 in Eldorado, OK. They were not only married, but best friends. They were never blessed with children, but they loved all the children in their families and those children became their children. He served in the U.S.Army in 1963 and 1964, much of which was spent at Dreux Air Base, France. In 1972 they moved to their new home in eastern Oklahoma county, their current residence. Wayne worked as a production engineer at Tinker AFB and retired in 1991.

He always had an interest in some particular hobby or activity. His interests were varied, and he strived to learn every aspect of his current passion. Wayne was a pet lover - raising miniature horses, Boston Terrier dogs, horses, goats, "a horrible goose" and racing and fancy pigeon breeds. He was especially knowledgeable and dedicated to pigeons and activities of the Oklahoma Pigeon Association. He and Lynette were part of the original group instrumental in getting the National Pigeon Museum located in Oklahoma City. He judged many local pigeon shows and traveled to several states to do so. Over the years he has been an avid hot wheels, McCoy pottery, stamp and coin collector. Wayne was fun to be with and could relate to whoever he met, making friends easily. He lived by a code of "striving to do the right thing, respecting others and taking care of responsibilities ". He will be missed by all those who loved him so much.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lyle Haws and Bertha L Haws Richmond and a brother, Allen R Haws.

Wayne is survived by his wife, Lynette, of the home, a sister, Marty Findley of Hinton, Oklahoma, many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
