Wayne Coil Obituary

Wayne Laverne Coil was born on April 27, 1932, to Paul Evans and Olive Lorraine (Harbeston) Coil in Yukon, Oklahoma. He passed away on Saturday, October 9, 2021, at Inova Fairfax Hospital in Fairfax, Virginia, at the age of 89. He graduated from high school in Oklahoma City OK, attended college at the University of Oklahoma in Norman, was active in the ROTC program and graduated with a BS from the University. Wayne went on to serve in the United States Air Force for three years. He moved to Bartlesville, OK, and worked for Cities Service Oil Company for three years. He then went to work for the Federal Government, Department of Transportation, Right-of-Way Division, where he worked for 41 years, retiring in 2008. He met Bettye Lois Floore in Jackson, Mississippi, and they were married on July 27, 1974. He was an avid reader and especially enjoyed reading Science Fiction, loved the Real Estate Market and had an interest in cars from an early age.

 Wayne was a member of Columbia Baptist Church and a very consecrated Christian. He loved his Lord and Savior, was dedicated at reading his Bible. He worked with the youth at First Baptist Church while they lived in Jackson, Mississippi.

 

Wayne is survived by his wife Bettye of their home in Virginia, and one daughter, Sheilah Elaine Coil from Jenks, Oklahoma.

 

 

He was preceded in death by his parents Paul and Olive Lorraine Coil.
