Vernon Lee Black was born April 9, 1937 to Eber S. and Millie Eveline (Duncan) Black in Geary, OK. He passed away Friday, September 24, 2021 at the Mercy Hospital in Watonga at the age of 84. Vernon graduated from Greenfield High School. He was united in marriage to Laura Mae Landreth July 4, 1958 in Fay, OK and she preceded him in death at Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City. He lived in the Geary-Greenfield area all of his life. They lived in the same house for 62 years just two miles from where Vernon grew up. He owned and operated a Dairy Farm for many years. Vernon had a wealth of knowledge of motors, and anything that needed to be done on the farm, he would fix it himself. He was a member of the Greenfield Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eber and Millie Black, wife, Laura Black, and siblings Lloyd, James, and Bernard Black, and Bernice Dandridge.
Vernon is survived by his three daughters, Dianna Phillips of Geary, OK, Laurie Brown and husband Glen of Clinton, OK, and Joann Brunnert and husband David of Mustang, OK; one son, Victor Black of Geary, OK; five grandchildren, Andrea Smith, Chrystal Ellis, Brent Brown, Britney Brown, Scott Brunnert; nine great grandchildren, Cooper Ellis, Grayci Ellis, Samantha Ellis, Stiener Smith, Evan Smith, Callan Smith, Destry Smith, Hannah Brunnert, and Allison Brunnert; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Officiating: Rev. Howard Head and Rev. Doug Jackson
