Velta Lee (Stahlman) Mitchell

Velta Lee Stahlman Mitchell was born on Wednesday April 28, 1943, to Archie & Edith Stahlman at their home in Scott, OK. She passed away on Thursday, August 10, 2023.  She grew up in the East Walnut, Binger, and Verden areas. Velta was married to Levi Mitchell on March 5th, 1960. They were married for 63 years and lived in the Dutton, Minco, and Cogar areas until her passing on Thursday August 10th, 2023. They had three children. Velta was a manager at Mick’s/Williams Grocery store in Minco for many years.

Velta is survived by her husband, Levi Mitchell of the home; children, Terri Abbott and husband Jimmy of Anadarko, OK, Curtis Mitchell and wife Sara of Shawnee, OK and Naoma Korn of Hinton, OK; seven grandchildren, Trisha, Eric, Alisha, April, Amber, and Kiah and her brother, Daniel, as well as 14 great grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; sister, Barbara Brown of Anadarko, OK; brother, J.D. Stahlman of Clinton, OK; sister-in-law, Lu Stahlman of Moore, OK as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Velta was preceded in death by her parents Archie and Edith; brothers James and LeeRoy Stahlman, sister, Mary Alice Seals and one granddaughter Kristi.
