Timothy Jay Hobson

Timothy J. Hobson was born on August 21, 1960, in Okarche, Oklahoma, to Paul Dale and Loretta Ruth (Kerr) Hobson. He passed away on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at the Integris Hospice House in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, at the age of 65.  Tim graduated from Calumet High School and spent most of his life in the Calumet area. He operated a hog farm for several years before establishing and operating Hobson Trucking, where he hauled cattle throughout the region until his retirement in 2021.  Tim was united in marriage to Cecelia Renae Holbrook in December 2010 in El Reno, Oklahoma. She preceded him in death on March 6, 2026.  Known to family and friends as “Hobby,” Tim never met a stranger. He enjoyed hunting, spending time with his grandson Max, talking on the phone, visiting with friends, and reading and watching westerns.

Survivors include his son, Talen Hobson and wife Ashley of Piedmont, Oklahoma; stepdaughter, Kristi Case and husband Ryan of Kingfisher, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Carter and Parker Hobson of Piedmont, Oklahoma, and Max Case, Natalie Ellis, and Zappa Ellis, all of Kingfisher, Oklahoma; one brother, Todd Hobson and wife Tricia of El Reno, Oklahoma; one sister, Gini Houston and husband Brandon of El Reno, Oklahoma; aunts, Ann Hobson of Shawnee, Oklahoma, Lola Mashaney of Bridgeport, Oklahoma, and Treva Kerr of Hinton, Oklahoma; one uncle, Bud Kerr of Hinton, Oklahoma; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul Dale and Loretta Ruth Hobson; his wife, Cecelia Hobson; and one brother, Chipper Dale Hobson.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, June 26, 2026, at the El Reno Cemetery Pavilion in El Reno, Oklahoma.
