Thelma Chesser Obituary

Thelma Lucille (Hibbert Scifres) Chesser was born on August 28, 1938, in Fort Cobb, OK.  Thelma passed away on June 28, 2021, at her home in Mustang, OK at the age of 82. She graduated from US Grant High School in OKC in 1957.  From there, she attended East Central and Central State Colleges. She married Earnest Eugene Chesser on September 18, 1960, in OKC, OK.  She worked as a clerk for the US Postal Service, in a photo lab, in a day care, and taught literacy classes to adults.  Thelma enjoyed reading, quilting, crocheting.  One quilt won an award in the County Fair. Thelma was an amazing wife, mother, and grandmother. While raising her children and grandchildren, she was involved in all their activities from piano lessons to softball games.

 Thelma was born to Jay and Juanita Hibbert in Fort Cobb, OK; years later to be adopted by William Lee and Marjorie Ann Scifres in Ringling, OK, all of whom have preceded her in death.  Thelma is also pre-deceased by sisters Joyce Ragan and Dorothy Kizer; brother Sonny Turner; brothers in law Lee Chesser and Bob Chesser; granddaughter Carina Saunders; nephew Mickey Chesser; nieces Carrie Henley & Becky O’Brien; great nieces Michelle Mann & Misti Ellifritt.

Thelma is survived by Earnest Eugene Chesser, her loving husband of 60 years, 9 months, and 10 days.

She is survived also by the following:  Son: A baby boy (gifted at birth by Thelma to a loving, prepared family in a sealed adoption) Daughters: Barbara Jolley (Lee Sorrells), Patti Chesser (Scott Turner) & Margie Queen (Jimmy Gutierrez,) Sisters-in-law: Liz Hisaw & Murel Chesser, Grandchildren: Raschelle Majors, Nicholas Byrd & Adam Jolley; Sahara Perrine (Dustin Perrine), Charles Bloodworth & Kaydi Bloodworth; Tristan Queen & Dekota Gutierrez, Great grandchildren: Gavin & Katie; Landon, Lanah, Adam Junior, Jedidiah & Kyndra; Cody, Rylea & Daymon; Christian, Cash, Colt, Julian & Violet; Miriah & Duran, Great great grandchildren: Brenley and Cannon, Nieces and Nephews: Debbie Lloyd (David Lloyd), Tammy Kizer, Mark Kizer (Tooty Kizer,) & David Kizer (Helen Kizer); Robin Henson (Jerry Henson), Glenda Wilde (James Wilde) & Flint Ragan, Great nephews & great nieces: Kyle, Alisha & Desirai; Melissa; Ryan, Kristin & Tiffany; Lynn, Emily & Megan; Ragan & Shianne; Hunter; C.J.; Christopher
