Steven James Mitchell was born on October 17, 1972 in Weatherford, OK to James DWayne and Jo Carolyn (Paxton) Mitchell. Steven passed away on March 23, 2024 in Cordell, OK at the age of 51. Steven lived his whole life in Hinton. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and was a gun enthusiast. Steven was a member of the Church of Christ in Hinton, OK.

Survivors Include: his mother, Jo Carolyn Mitchell of Hinton, OK, his grandmother, Betty Paxton of Lookeba, OK, his siblings, Susan Taylor-Fox and Daniel Fox of Hinton, OK, and Bobby Mitchell of Hinton, OK, his nieces, McKayla Mitchell and Katherine Fox, and his nephew, Eliot Taylor, his uncle, Philip Paxton and wife Rosalie of Lookeba, OK, as well as many other relatives and friends.

Steven was preceded in death by his father, James Mitchell, his grandparents, Bill Paxton, and Ray and Eula Mae Mitchell, and his uncle, Paul Paxton.
