Stephen Clyde Courtney

Stephen Clyde Courtney was born on May 13, 1958 in Poteau, Oklahoma to Clyde Herman and Sue E. (Kirksey) Courtney Brown. He passed away on Saturday, February 27, 2021 in Watonga, Oklahoma at the age of 62 years. Stephen worked at numerous jobs during his life, a certified diesel mechanic, smog control technician, shop Forman for Cerruti Trucking company, derrick hand, farmer and then at 24 years of age went to California to attend Bible School. Stephen cared for his father for 15 years and enjoyed driving his jeep in the mountains with his son through the Rubicon mountains in California. Stephen attended church at Dill City Baptist Church and was a Bible teacher. Stephen had a big heart and enjoyed his family.

Survivors include his siblings; Larry Courtney of Norman, Oklahoma, Cindy Pitts of Watonga, Oklahoma, Teresa Courtney and Pat McGowan of Watonga, Oklahoma, Chris Courtney of Watonga, Oklahoma, and Jason Courtney of Cordell, Oklahoma, one granddaughter, Abigail Courtney of Fresno, California, as well as many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.  

Stephen was preceded in death by his son Jacob Clyde Courtney, his wife Lydia Estrada Courtney, and his parents, Clyde and Sue Courtney.
