Sherman Lee Leemhuis, Jr. Obituary
Sherman Lee Leemhuis, Jr., was born on June 19, 1970, in Clinton, Oklahoma, to Sherman Lee Leemhuis, Sr., and Twyla Beth (Edwards) Leemhuis. He passed away on July 24, 2025, in Oklahoma City, OK at the age of 55. Sherman was raised in Anadarko and graduated from Riverside Indian School. A natural athlete, he enjoyed playing basketball and baseball in his younger years. He later worked as a respiratory therapist at Anadarko Hospital, where he cared deeply for his patients and coworkers. He drove a semitruck for over 16 years. Sherman had a deep love for the outdoors and treasured time spent with his family. He had a big heart and an even bigger sense of humor. Always ready with a joke or a laugh, he had a unique ability to lift spirits. His children fondly remember the many fishing trips they took with him, as well as the countless Bigfoot stories he shared—so vivid, he once even shouted in his sleep, “I’m going to catch him!” He enjoyed backroad drives, scary movies, comedies, and was a huge Star Wars fan—his Chewbacca impression was second to none. He loved all of Bruce Lee’s movies. He was also unapologetically a fan of Nickelback, something he would proudly own. His joy for life was infectious, and his love for his children and family knew no bounds. Sherman will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Sherman is survived by his six children: Quinton Leemhuis, Steven John Iovino Leemhuis, and his sons, Ethan Leemhuis , Ashton Leemhuis, of Las Vegas, NV; Sherman Lee Leemhuis III and wife Gabriela, and his daughters, Ava Leemhuis, Kaydence Zoey Leemhuis, and Raylynn Leemhuis, of Las Vegas, NV; Sharon Lee Leemhuis, her son, Y’mir Leemhuis, of Las Vegas, NV; Heleena Nichol Leemhuis of Binger, OK; and Patricia Tomei Leemhuis of Binger, OK. He is also survived by his sister Patricia Leemhuis of Anadarko, OK; his brother Marcus Sherman Lee Hall of Cyril, OK; his sister Mona Watahomigie Leemhuis of Kingman, AZ; his wife, Tina Leemhuis of Las Vegas, NV, special nieces and nephews, Stephanie Leemhuis, Renee Whitehorn, Paul Whitehorn, Jr, Nicole Roughface, Rosah Davila, Sheila Roughface, Gilbert Leemhuis, Jaime Zatarain, Jr., Raquel Alvarez, Lizbeth Perez, Nikolas Charqueno, Tearza Leemhuis, Malena Leemhuis, and Sheldon Leemhuis, along with many other beloved relatives and friends.
