Sheldon Lane Van Buskirk

Sheldon Lane Van Buskirk was born Sunday, June 13th, 1976 to Gregory Van Buskirk and Vilena Carol Lester in Chickasha, OK.  He passed away Wednesday, June 24, 2020 at OU Medical Center at the age of 44.  Sheldon grew up in Rush Springs, OK and graduated from High School in Lamar, CO. He attended auto mechanic school in Phoenix, AZ. He began working in the oil patch soon thereafter.  He worked as a driller on Rig #33 Scandrill, formerly Felderhoff.  Sheldon enjoyed riding motorcycles, carpentry work, and building things around the house for Desiree and chasing Brody.  He was a great cook, hardworking, a good friend, and loved his family very much.  

Survivors include: his wife, Desiree Van Buskirk of Hinton, OK, his children, Derrick Van Buskirk of Marlow, OK, Dawson Van Buskirk, Aleanna Van Buskirk, Shy'Ann Van Buskirk, Brody Van Buskirk, all of Hinton, and one step daughter Timberlee Hobbs of Fletcher, OK that he raised as his own, his brothers in law, Shank Stephens and wife Stacy of Hinton, OK, Selby Stephens and wife Melissa of Portales, NM, and Justin Spence of Oakdale, CA, his sister in law, Dusty Pittman and husband William of Lapoyner, TX, his nephews, Latigo and Tie-string Stephens, and Rustin Pittman, his nieces, Rietta and Pystal Stephens, and Jaycee and Kenzie Spence, his father, Gregory Van Buskirk, his mother, Carol Lester, as well as many other relatives and friends. 

He was preceded in death by his brother Chance Van Buskirk and father in law Jeff Spence.
