Sharon Kay Brooks, 82, passed away on Sunday, March 2, 2025, at her home in Corn, Oklahoma. She was born on December 30, 1942, in Healdton, Oklahoma, to Ernest and Elvie (Emberlin) Vernon.  Sharon graduated from Star Spencer High School and married Edwin Fay Brooks on December 23, 1961, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Together, they made their home in Oklahoma City before moving to Hinton, where they raised their children west of town. Over the years, they lived in several different places before settling in Binger.  Sharon worked for many years as a cook at Binger Schools and later at Albertsons in Yukon, retiring in 2012. She had a love for cooking, cross-stitching, embroidery, and sewing. She also enjoyed visiting casinos, but above all, she cherished time with her grandchildren. Sharron will be remembered for her kindness, love for her family, and the joy she found in life’s simple pleasures.

She is survived by her children, Edwina Pottor and husband Randall of Fort Cobb, Mark Brooks of Duke, Oklahoma, and Lisa Patterson and husband Steve of Minco; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Elvie Vernon; her husband, Edwin Brooks; her son, Timmy Dee Brooks; and her siblings, Danny Vernon and Pat Jones.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, March 7, 2025, at the Hinton-Turner Funeral Home Chapel in Hinton, Oklahoma, with Reverend Dennis King officiating services entrusted to Turner Funeral Home, Hinton, Oklahoma.
