Samuel Dee Wix Obituary

Samuel Dee Wix was born on October 13, 1973, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to Michael Wix and Tammy Bullard (deceased). He passed away Tuesday January 20, 2026 at the age of 52 in Yukon, Oklahoma, surrounded by his family and loved ones.

He was preceded in death by his father, Michael Wix; grandparents, Willard and Ruby Wix; his brother, Timothy Bunn; and his nephew, Eric Edwards.

Samuel is survived by his mother, Shelley Wix Lasher, and stepfather, Craig Lasher, of El Reno; his grandmother, Janice Tech, of El Reno; and his grandparents, Carroll and Jenny Finch, of Tulsa. He is also survived by his siblings Linda Wix of Oklahoma City; Shanna Garrod and her wife, Nikki, of Moore; Zachary Wix and his wife, Brooke, of El Reno; Erin Wix of El Reno; Lauren Wix of El Reno; and Adam Bunn and Paul Bunn of Arkansas; his aunt Stacy Golden and husband Devin of Arkansas; uncle Terry Finch of Geary; and uncle Whitney Finch and wife Allison of Tulsa; aunts Carol Bullard of Kingfisher and Kimberly Ellick of Miami, OK; and cousin Martin Bullard of Yukon.

He leaves behind his cherished nieces and nephews: Kinsley Wix, Lennon Wix, Coi Jamison, Gabby Brown, Emerson Stowers, and Keeton Romberg.

Sam graduated from El Reno High School in 1993 and shortly thereafter joined the Army Reserves. He later began working for Gene Sear’s Gun Range, traveling throughout the United States excavating lead.
Sam was known as a true “jack of all trades” and was always willing to help anyone in need. He could remodel homes, rebuild cars, and fix just about anything that was broken. As a young boy, Sam enjoyed hunting and fishing with his father and developed a lifelong love for the outdoors. At just eight years old, he proudly claimed his first deer. Sam was a kind and gentle soul. When he hugged you, you felt it. His family meant the world to him, and he held a special love for his siblings, always protective and supportive of them throughout life. While he cherished being a big brother, his most rewarding title was becoming “Uncle Sam.” Sam was deeply blessed to spend the final seven years of his life under the loving care of his dear friend, Judy Hill, of Yukon. Judy was a constant source of companionship, kindness, and unwavering support. She provided Sam with comfort and friendship, surrounding him with love until his final day. Her devotion brought him peace and reassurance, and her presence was a true blessing in his life. Sam was baptized at the age of nine and is now walking with God, watching over the family he leaves behind. While his presence will be deeply missed and the space he filled in their hearts can never be replaced, his family finds comfort and peace in knowing that he is no longer in pain.
