Samuel “Sammy” Rodriguez
December 31, 1960 – August 6, 2024

Samuel “Sammy” Rodriguez, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away unexpectedly on August 6, 2024, in Oklahoma City, OK, at the age of 63 from heart complications. Born on December 31, 1960, in San Antonio, TX, Sammy was the cherished son of Salvador S. “Sammy” and Simona Guardiola Rodriguez.

Sammy spent his early years in San Antonio before his family moved to Lookeba, OK, where he attended Lookeba-Sickles Schools. It was here that he met the love of his life, Teresa A. Simmons. They married in Lookeba, OK, and shared 49 wonderful years together, forming an unbreakable bond. After raising their children in Florida, Sammy and Teresa returned to Oklahoma to live out their golden years.

Known for his mischievous spirit, Sammy had a talent for playing pranks and always had a joke for every occasion. He delighted in giving his loved ones nicknames, making every family gathering memorable. Halloween was his favorite holiday, a fitting choice for someone who enjoyed a good laugh and a light-hearted scare.

Sammy was a man of many talents. He spent years driving trucks and was a skilled carpenter. Together with Teresa, he enjoyed flipping houses, and there was nothing the two of them couldn’t accomplish as a team. Sammy had a deep passion for motorcycles and classic cars, owning many of his favorites over the years.

With a strong and independent spirit, Sammy had the biggest heart and was always ready to lend a hand to those in need, especially his family, whom he loved unconditionally.

Sammy is survived by his devoted wife, Teresa Rodriguez of El Reno, OK; his sons, Daniel Rodriguez and Samuel Rodriguez, both of Florida; his daughter, Roxanne Thames of Mustang, OK; and six cherished grandchildren: Olyvia, Claire, Sammie, Harrison, Harper and Reagan aka “Hank the Tank”.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Salvador S. “Sammy” and Simona Rodriguez, as well as his siblings.

Service Information:
A service will be held on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at the Turner Funeral Homes Chapel in Hinton, OK, officiated by Pastor Ken Bryant. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Hinton, OK.
