Ruthann (English) Berry

Ruthann Berry, 73, passed away Aug. 26, 2010. Survived by her husband of 52 years, LeRoy Berry, of the family home; children, Charles (Mary) Berry, Hinton, Okla. and Leann Berry, Thornton, Colo; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; siblings, Imogene Geick, Denver, Ernest English, Amarillo, Texas and Glenda McMenamy, Felt, Olka; brother-in-law, Wallace (Mirrian) Berry, Citrus Heights, Calif.; two sisters-in-law, Letha Femister, Weatherford, Okla. and Bethel (Harland) Hacket, Kingfisher, Okla; numerous nieces and nephews. Ruthann was born May 19, 1937, in Clayton, N.M. She was the fourth child of Randall and Ruth (Coit) English, Felt, Okla., deceased. Ruthann graduated from Keyes High School in Keyes, Okla. She earned her bachelor's degree in teaching from South Western Oklahoma State University in 1958. She earned her Master's degree from Leslie College. Her first teaching job was in Gotebo, Okla. She taught in Vona and Cheyenne Wells, Colo. before settling in Pueblo where she taught at Midwest Business College. She completed her career teaching for School District 70's Excelsior Middle School and Rye High School. She was a member of Central Christian Church. She enjoyed genealogy and belonged to the Southern Colorado Genealogical Society, Daughters' of the American Revolution, Colonial Dames of the 17th Century, and the Society of Mayflower Descendants. She was also a member of the professional societies, NEA, CEA, and PCEA. Ruthann enjoyed traveling, her family and Christmas were her ultimate joys.
