Ronette Thiessen, 58, Weatherford, Oklahoma, passed away on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at her son’s home in Elk City, OK.  She was born on October 16, 1966, to Ras and Barbara Rasmussen. A 1984 graduate of Hinton High School, Ronette was known for her warmth, generosity, and boundless positivity.  She was married to Tracy Thiessen.  

 

Ronette was a woman of many talents and passions. She worked as a dental assistant, nail technician, and realtor and was the proud owner of Privilegie Wellness Spa and Salon, where she worked as an aesthetician for many years.  Always ready with a smile, she was known for her kindness, seeing the good in everyone, and helping others however she could.  Her faith was central to her life; she was a devoted member of New Life Church in Hydro, Oklahoma, where she loved to worship the Lord. Throughout her illness, she remained positive, often praying for others and providing healing books to other oncology patients at OU Medical Center.

 

Ronette cherished her family most. Her kids and grandkids were everything to her.  She enjoyed shopping, being near the ocean, and always enjoyed giving and testifying to others. Known for her elegance, she was always stylishly dressed especially with heels and ready to take on each day with joy.

 

She is survived by her two children, Trever Thiessen and his partner Lane Henry of Elk City, and Brittnee Preston and her husband Chris of Oklahoma City; her three beloved grandchildren, Benton, Callan, and Atli Preston, all of Oklahoma City; and her sister, Jara Wilson and her fiancé Shannon Vodry of Carnegie. Ronette leaves behind many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends who will miss her greatly.

 

Ronette was preceded in death by her parents, Ras and Barbara Rasmussen; her sister, Johnna Hale; and her nieces, JaLisa Hale and JaRay Wilson.

 

Her legacy of kindness, love, and faith lives on through all who knew and loved her.
