Ronald DWayne “Ron” Mills was born on August 3, 1944 to Gerald E. and Alma D. (Meece) Mills. He passed away Tuesday, November 21, 2023 at Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City, OK at the age of 79. Ron graduated from Hinton High School in 1962, and married Martha Ann Kitson that same year.  He attended Connors State College where he played football, and later attended the University of Oklahoma. Ron rode bulls in the PRCA for over 10 years. He was a Farrier for 52 years and was a shining example of loving what you do; he loved every minute of it. Ron committed his life to Christ at an early age at the First Baptist Church of Hinton. He continued to live fully dedicated to Christ. He was an elder at Yukon Assembly of God for 10 years, and an elder at New Covenant Church in Lookeba for 15 years. Ron also served on the Hinton School Board for six years. Ron was a model of high moral character with a very firm stance on right and wrong. He will be greatly missed by all those who loved him.

Ron is survived by his beautiful and graceful wife Martha Ann Mills of the home; daughter-in-law, Angela Mills Grunewald and Scott Grunewald and grandchildren Jayla Mills, Jon Childress, and Jace Mills and wife Allison ; Son Shawn Mills and wife Michelle Mills and their children, Kye and Sydney Mills; son Monte Mills and wife Leagh Mills, and grandchildren Mackenzie and Drew Dodson, Peyton and Cassie Atkinson, Mason and Hannah Mills, Lacey Atkinson, and Harper Grace Mills, all of whom will live out and continue Ron’s Legacy of true grit, honor, forgiveness, strength and dedication to God and family; his siblings, Jim Mills, Bob Mills, Wilma Smith, Connie Mills, and Kathy Stuart, as well as many other relatives and friends.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Gerald and Alma Mills, his son, Jeff Mills, his brothers, Fred, Gene, C.V., Dean, and Vurgal Mills, and his sisters, Wanda and Dorothy

Viewing will be at the Turner Funeral Home in Hinton Wednesday from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm, and Friday from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm.
