Ronald “LeRoy” Berry, 84, passed away on May 23, 2020, after a lengthy battle with dementia. LeRoy was born on Dec, 17, 1935, to Charles and Beulah (Burns) Berry in Geary, Okla. He married the love of his life, Ruthann (English) Berry on May 30, 1958, in Weatherford, Okla. They were married for 52 years until her passing in 2010. Together they had two children, Charles Berry and Leann Berry; and two grandchildren, Jonathan (Jennifer Elam) Berry and Adam Berry. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; sister, Letha Hanks Feemster; and daughter-in-law, Mary Berry. He is survived by his children; grandchildren; brother, Wallace Berry; sister, Bethel Hackett; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. LeRoy was better known as “Mr. Berry” or “Coach.” He taught at Pleasant View Middle School and County High School, retiring in 1990. He was a wrestling coach and truly enjoyed the sport. After he retired from teaching, LeRoy tried his hand at artistic wood carving. He excelled at his craft and traveled the western U.S. competing in art shows. He was an avid outdoorsman and had a special passion for ice fishing. The family gives a special thanks to Meals on Wheels and Frontier Hospice. There will be no services in Pueblo due to COVID-19.
