Ronald Duain Askins

Ronald Duain (Ronnie) Askins was born October 21, 1953 in Gracemont, OK to Elta M. and A.A. (Buster) Askins. He passed away from this life on July 27, 2020 at the age of 66.

Ronnie was the youngest son in a family of 5; three girls and two boys. Alvin, the oldest, passed away in 2012, Mom in 2009, and Daddy in 1994. Ronnie grew up east of Gracemont, and he attended Gracemont School, graduating in 1971. At age 19, he married Connie L. McCalip in Wichita Falls, TX. He liked to fish, loved to hunt, and loved to ride his Harley and tinker with old cars. They moved to Oklahoma City where Ronnie worked as a truck driver for Nth Stone and Quickcrete for 37 years. He and Connie were faithful about visiting Mom each weekend. They had no children, but they had a parrot and a macaw before they got a little dog. They were married for 34 years, until Connie passed away in 2007. Ronnie retired in 2011 and in 2015 he moved back to Mom’s house near Gracemont.

He is survived by his three sisters, Genita Askins of Gracemont, OK, Inez Askins of Venice, FL, and Glenda Askins-Cox of Shawnee, OK, his extended family and good friends that he had such great times with.
