Ron Hunter was born August 9, 1936 to Robert and Margie Anna (Fithen) Hunter in Hays, KS. He passed away Friday, July 29, 2022 at his granddaughters home in Yukon at the age of 85. Ron graduated from Woodward High School. He served in the US Army. He lived in El Reno where he worked for Rock Island Railroad. Ron and Bobbie Leach were united in marriage August 22, 1976 in Liberal, KS and she preceded him in death April 15, 2009 in Oklahoma City. Ron worked at the Geary Post Office for 20 years and he and Bobbie owned and operated Hunter Pest Control for over 20 years. He enjoyed playing his guitar, talking and visiting with friends, and was a member of the New Life Assembly of God Church in Geary.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Bobbie, and two sisters, Dorothy and Marilyn.
Ron is survived by his daughter, Jerri Pugh and her husband John of Geary; three grandchildren, Lacie Anderson and Tavares Moore of Yukon, OK, Justin Havener and wife Brandy of Abilene, KS, and Sadie Pugh of Geary; four great-grandchildren, Noah White of Weatherford, Emmalee White of Yukon, and Hunter and Savannah Havener both of Abilene, KS; sister, Rozann Taylor and husband Bob of Midland, TX; one brother, Bob Hunter of Austin, TX; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
