Roberta "Bobbi" (Whiteman) Simpson

Roberta “Bobbi” (Whiteman) Simpson was born January 30, 1932 in Eagle City, OK to Dale Gene Whiteman Beaver and Nona Kay Bates.  She passed away Tuesday, December 24, 2019 at Integris Canadian Valley Hospital in Yukon, OK at the age of 87.  Bobbi graduated from Chilocco Indian School and attended college at SWOSU and Rose State Colleges. She received her degree to be a Licensed Practical Nurse.  She lived in Canton, Woodward, Geary, Oklahoma City and Watonga areas before moving back to Geary.  She worked as an LPN in those areas before retiring as the Charge Nurse at the Geary Community Nursing Home. She enjoyed reading, playing Bingo, making shawls, attending benefit dances and pow wows and reminiscing about her Grandma, Ella Bates. She served on the Geary Indian Community Committee and as Treasurer and Advisor to the Oklahoma Indian Nation Pow Wows. She attended the Geary Indian Baptist and Swappingback Churches.

Bobbi was preceded death her parents Dale Beaver and Nona Kay Bates; two daughters, Karen Bearshield and Jerdine Boynton; grandson, Russell LeFlore, and siblings, Oberlin Bates, Maurice Lime, and Harry Homer Bates.

She is survived by her children, Jodine Beardsley of Watonga, OK, Ricki Yeager and her husband Steven of Oklahoma City, Frederick “Mack” Sittingbull of El Reno, Tommye Blackcrow and her husband Brad of Geary, and Cory Palmer of Newton, KS; grandchildren, Anthony Smith, Bobby, Richard, Greg, and Micheal Robinson, Jacquelyn Smith, Florina Nicole Beardsley, Anna Slimp, Karen, Christian, Samuel and Fred Sittingbull, Jr., Dale Smith, Caren Martin, Crystal Smith, Sean, Ashley, Michael, and Christian BlackCrow; many great grandchildren; siblings, Geronimo Woolsey of Texas, Colis Jean Jackson of Ft. Cobb, and James Allen Bates of Union City, OK; and many nieces nephews other relatives and many friends.
