Roberta Faye (Keechi) Raffety was born on October 5, 1932, in Binger, Oklahoma, to Frank E. and Grace (Pinkston) Keechi.  She passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 9, 2025, at the Binger Nursing Home in Binger, Oklahoma, at the age of 93.  Roberta spent her early years in California, where she attended school in Corning and graduated from Greenville High School in Greenville. She later pursued higher education at Chico State Teacher’s College in Chico, California. A woman of many talents and boundless determination, Roberta lived a life filled with hard work, love for the land, and a deep commitment to her family and community.  Alongside her sister Hazel, Roberta helped build a log cabin on the family homestead in Greenville, personally gathering rocks for the fireplace. She later helped construct a second cabin there. On February 14, 1964, Roberta married Frank Lloyd Raffety in Carson City, Nevada. Together, they built a life around mining—exploring for gold, silver, and other minerals—and were deeply involved in surveying, engineering reports, and prospecting. Her work ethic extended beyond mining into real estate, farming and ranching, and healthcare, where she served as a nursing assistant in local doctor’s offices. Her intuition and skill made her especially adept at diagnosing patients.  A proud member of the Delaware Tribe of Oklahoma, Roberta was actively involved in tribal affairs, serving on the executive committee and participating in housing and tax boards. Her dedication to her heritage and her community was evident in all that she did.  In 1978, Roberta returned to Lookeba to care for her parents, spending cherished days fishing, hiking, and enjoying time together. She had a special love for fishing and was especially fond of her Great Danes.

Roberta is survived by her nephews, Greg Graves and his wife Dawn and children Benjamin and Sara of California and Frank Keechi Jr. of Fairbanks, Alaska; her nieces Jenny from Lake Tahoe, Nevada and Kathleen from New Jersey; her niece Sonnie Allen and her husband Casey and sons Greysen and Gatlin; her many dear friends and colleagues at the Delaware Nation; and numerous other relatives and friends who were touched by her kindness and spirit.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Grace Keechi; her beloved husband, Frank Raffety; her son, Timothy Raffety; her brother, Leo Frank Keechi; and her sister, Hazel Sue Keechi Graves.

The family would like to thank the staff at Grady Memorial Hospital, Rural Wellness Hospital, Binger Nursing Home and her hospice nurses for the love and support they provided.
