Robert R. Scouten

Services for Robert Roy Scouten will be at 2:00PM, Thursday, October 21, 2021, at the Scouten Family Home near Eakly with Scotty Branham, Gerald Forsythe and Carlin Lawrence officiating, entrusted to Turner Funeral Home in Hinton.  Robert was born December 19, 1944 in Castorville, TX, to Edward and Alice Davidson Scouten.   He graduated from Lookeba-Sickles High School in 1963 and attended college at SWOSU in Weatherford. 

He married Mary Lou Pitt Sodders on May 4, 1968.  He worked at Western Electric in Oklahoma City from 1968-1974 when he took over the family farm from 1974 to 1989.  He then worked for Crop Guard Research from 1990 to 2002 as well as  a substitute mail carrier for Hinton and Lookeba Post Offices.  He later worked for Farmers Coop out of Eakly until he retired in 2008.

He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Weatherford, and Order of the Eastern Star.  Robert passed away Sunday, October 17, 2021 in Oklahoma City, OK at the age of 76.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward Earl and Alice Virginia Davidson Scouten, 3 brothers, James Dale Scouten, Melvin Earl Scouten, and David Keith Scouten and one sister, Zelda Lynn Scouten Long.

Survivors include, his wife Mary Lou of the home, 2 daughters and their husbands, Vicki Sodders Reed and Darrell of Hydro and Stacey Sodders King and Mitch of Weatherford, one son, and his wife, Robert Dale Scouten and Sandi of Yukon, 6 grandchildren, Jeremy Pebley and Lisa of Weatherford, Dani Pebley Baker and Brant of Butler, Lyndsey King of Weatherford, Koby King and Whitney of Arapaho, Courtney Scouten Coulter and Landon of Oklahoma City, and Josh Scouten of Yukon and 8 great grandchildren, Madison Pebley, Kayleigh Pebley, Dayci Rogers, Hunter Baker, Cutter Lane Taff, Cooper Taff, Cutter Wayne King and Copen King.

Robert's family will receive guests at a visitation from 6-8 PM, Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at the Turner Funeral Home Chapel, Hinton, OK.
