Robert C. “Pop” Arnold was born September 11, 1938, in Pocasset, OK to Edmund Cecil “Bill” and Elsie Boles Arnold. He passed away Saturday, September 9, 2023, at his home in Hinton, OK. Pop grew up in Roswell, NM. He enlisted in the US Navy where he served for 14 years. Pop served all over the world including times in Okinawa, Philippines, and Hawaii and in Vietnam during the Vietnam War. He was referred to as Popeye by his comrades because of his strength. During these years he was married to Sharon Kay Lambert, and they had 6 children. After his military service he drove a concrete truck for 8 years and then became a carpenter. He was a member of The Carpenter’s Union, and this career moved him and his family to many different states. He loved spending time outdoors hunting and fishing. He was a meat hunter and not just after the antlers as a trophy. He instilled this love in his children as well. He married Joyce Lockaby in 2014. Pop was a God-fearing man which he also passed down to his children and grandchildren. He was a member of Christ Gospel Church in Anadarko, OK.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Elsie Arnold, 2 wives, Sharon Arnold and Joyce Arnold, and siblings, Nanette Arnold, Cecil Arnold, Margaret Arnold and an infant brother.
He is survived by 6 children, Robert Arnold Jr. and wife Sheila of Lookeba, OK, Wes Arnold of Hinton, Timothy Arnold of Hinton, Alisha Haby and husband Jacob of Leakey, TX, Debbie Burpo and husband Luther of El Reno, OK, and Adrian Arnold and wife Tonya of Lookeba, 3 step-children, Carmen Williams, Susan Williams, and Gerald Williams, OK, 22 grandchildren and 32 greatgrandchildren, siblings, Nancy Benson, Johnny Arnold, and Marie Raines as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
