Richard Duane Ross was born March 20, 1952 to Martin Francis and Claudia (Harvel) Ross in Geary, OK. He passed away May 10, 2023 at his home in Watonga, OK at the age of 71. Richard attended Geary Schools before dropping out to live life on his own terms. He married the love of his life, Cheryl Hood on November 27, 1981 in Geary, OK. Richard would go on to work various jobs in the oilfield, including many years at Testco and Hamm & Phillips before retiring in 2015. Richard was always up for a good time. He loved fishing, taking pictures, cruising backroads, hunting mushrooms, listening to Pink Floyd and laughing at his own jokes. He also especially enjoyed scaring his kids and grandkids, and would often do so. You would never catch him in anything but overalls and he would gladly give the shirt off of his back to those that needed it. He was a simple, stubborn man who loved big and will be greatly missed. He has now become, Comfortably Numb.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Martin & Claudia Ross; three brothers, Bill, Gene, & Steve Ross; one sister, Karen Sims; and three chosen brothers, Jimmy Kiener, Bobby Fanning, & Patrick Nitzel.
