Richard H. Rice

Richard Harlan Rice was born on July 16, 1939 in Watonga, OK to Roy and Naomi Rice.  He passed away on Thursday, February 22, 2024 at his home in Hitchcock, OK at the age of 84. 

Richard spent his early years on the family farm in Watonga, OK until the family relocated to Oklahoma City in his junior high years.  Following graduation, he joined the Marine Corp and later worked at the FAA.  It was while working for the FAA, that Richard developed his love for flying and was proud to obtain his pilot's license.  He then began a lengthy career in purchasing; working for BYU and in manufactured housing before retiring in 1999. 

Following retirement Richard returned to his family farm in Oklahoma and began farming.  In 2001, Richard married Nancy Lynn Christensen and they tended to this rural family land until about five years ago when they retired for a second time.  Richard and Nancy attended the Mormon Church in Enid, OK.

Survivors include his wife Nancy Rice of the home; children, J. Richelle Simms, Thad Rice, Angie Deviney and husband Brett and Guy Grammer and partner Brandi Ritchie; seven grandchildren; six great grandchildren; one brother; one sister; and many nieces & nephews.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Roy & Naomi Rice and sister, Lula Maria Long.
