Rebecca “Becca” Suggs, 48, passed away on Saturday, April 11, 2026, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Becca was born on May 25, 1977, in Fulton, Missouri, to Johnie and Tammy (Croxton) Roberts. She spent her early years in Oklahoma City, attending elementary school there, and later moved to Jones, Oklahoma, where she completed both junior high and high school. She graduated from Jones High School in 1995 and went on to attend Murray State College and OSU-OKC.
Becca dedicated 25 years of her professional life to ophthalmic care. She held certification through IJCAHPO and spent 20 years serving patients at Dean McGee Eye Institute, followed by five years at Eye Care Specialists of Edmond. Most recently, she achieved her dream of working from home in a position with Claims Management Resources, a role she greatly appreciated along with her supportive work family.
Outside of her career, Becca lived life with energy and passion. She spent years competing in barrel racing and rodeoing, also earning royalty queen titles and other accolades. She loved fishing and camping and was known for her competitive spirit—often insisting she could outfish her husband. Becca was generous with her time and talents, frequently helping organize fundraisers, poker runs, and benefit auctions for others in need. She also volunteered her skills through IJCAHPO, traveling across the United States to provide eye care services to underserved communities.
Becca was a devoted fan of the Green Bay Packers and Oklahoma State University. She was often described as “unapologetically herself,” a sentiment wholeheartedly shared by those who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her husband, John Suggs of Calumet; her beloved four-legged fur baby, Jasper; her parents, Johnie and Tammy Roberts of Jones, Oklahoma; her siblings, Frank “Buddy” Roberts and wife Troya of Kingston, Oklahoma, and Laura Perkins and husband Chris of Jones, Oklahoma; her in-laws, Johnny and Sheri Suggs of Calumet, Oklahoma, and John and Angi Gilbert of Hinton, Oklahoma; nine nieces and nephews; six great-nieces and great-nephews; a multitude of chosen nieces and nephews; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Harry Leonard and Edna Frances Roberts, and Frank “Pappy” and Geri Croxton, along with numerous aunts and uncles.
A casual come-and-go visitation for family and friends will be held from 6:30 to 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at the First United Methodist Church in Calumet, Oklahoma.
Becca will be remembered for her generous heart, her fierce independence, and the laughter she brought into the lives of so many.
