Raymond Gerald Price Obituary

Raymond Gerald Price was born on June 24, 1929 in Mangum, OK to Rex and Ruth (Carpenter) Price.  He passed away on Saturday, July 13, 2024 in Edmond, OK at the age of 95.

Raymond joined the Marine Corp following graduation and remained a proud veteran of World War II.  He married Mildred White on May 5, 1950 in Chickasha, OK.  The couple moved to Kansas City, MO where Ray worked as a marketing manager for AT&T.  From there, Raymond’s job led their family to Pleasanton, KS, Chicago, IL, Minneapolis, MN, Omaha, NE, Salt Lake City, Utah, and New Jersey while commuting to NYC.  They moved back to Geary, OK in 1984, to El Reno in 2002, Parkersburg, WV in 2008, Ripley, WV in 2013.  In 2016 they moved to OKC to The Fountains at Canterbury where Mildred passed just a few months prior to celebrating their 70th wedding anniversary.  Ray then moved to Silver Elm Estates in Edmond.

Although his work had the family moving to various areas, that did not stop them from traveling any time they could to see family and friends; including fond memories made with the Dalton family in Branson, MO.  Raymond always had a deep faith; planning stops at various Church of Christ churches throughout the country so that his family did not miss Wednesday or Sunday service.  He was a dedicated volunteer for the Lariat Creek Christian Camp in Geary.  Following his retirement with AT&T, Raymond obtained his pilot’s license, did auctioneering and spent any time he could on the golf course.  In fact, he was such an avid golfer that his friends and family teased that he never actually retired!

He was preceded in death by his parents Rex and Ruth Price, wife Mildred Price and first born infant daughter, Connie Price.

Survivors include: 3 children, Raeline Tyner of OKC, OK, Sharla Lawrence of OKC, OK, and Jerrol Price and wife Wendy of Ada, OK, 4 grandchildren, Kimberly Kallman and husband Jacek of Clayton, NC, Beverly Sorrels of Pauls Valley, OK, Jason Price of Culpeper, VA, and Christine Decker and husband William of Culpeper, VA, 11 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren, as well as a host of other friends and family.
