Ralph Lynn Overmyer Obituary

Ralph Lynn Overmyer, Sr. was born on March 31, 1939, in Havre, Montana, to Arthur P. and Myrtle Irene (Stanberry) Overmyer. He passed away on September 4, 2024, in Bridgeport, OK, at the age of 85. Ralph graduated from Hinton High School and proudly served in the U.S. Navy for 31 years as an aircraft mechanic and aviation electrician aboard naval carriers. His exceptional service earned him commendations for performance in the top 1%, and he achieved the rank of Master Chief Petty Officer, the highest possible enlisted rank. His dedication to his country was a reflection of the strong patriotism that defined him throughout his life. After retiring from the Navy, Ralph married Elizabeth Mann on May 16, 1987, in California. Together, they shared a love of the outdoors.  Ralph enjoyed spending time at the beach collecting seashells and driftwood, and nurturing his garden. He had a sharp wit and a playful sense of humor, often making others laugh with perfectly timed quips. One of his favorite jokes was waiting for someone to take the last bite of their meal before exclaiming, "I wanted that one!" Earlier in life, Ralph was married to Carolyn Brooks, and they had four children together: Ralph Lynn, Jr., Larry, Shannan, and Ronald. Ralph was an active member of the Methodist Church in Bridgeport, Oklahoma, where his faith remained an essential part of his life.
