Ralph Leroy Burton was born on July 5, 1935 in Mountain View, OK to Julus Russell “J.R. or Jude” and Alma Mae (Mettz) Burton. He passed away on October 27, 2021, in Oklahoma City, OK at the age of 86. As a young boy, Ralph moved from Mountain View to Eakly, OK and attended Eakly schools. He married Twila Jean Fadenrecht on September 11, 1953 in the J.R. Burton family home which was south of Eakly. He helped and worked on his parent’s farm, worked on a custom harvest crew, and worked for Ben Haskins Construction early in his marriage. He also worked for Floyd King’s Irrigation and then for 3-M until he retired in 1997. He farmed peanuts on his family’s homeplace, south of Eakly, throughout his life. He raised cattle and loved to ride horses; he enjoyed driving around looking at the countryside, spending time visiting with his neighbors and family, and playing Rook with friends and grandkids. Ralph loved children and enjoyed taking them on horseback rides and then later on 4-wheeler rides. Ralph never met a stranger. He never passed up a good hamburger or fresh fruit. He gave his life to Christ as a young father in Hinton, OK and was a longtime member of Swan Lake Baptist Church.
Survivors Include: his children, Sherry Peck and husband David of Norman, OK, Steven Lloyd Burton and wife Teresa of Eakly, OK, and Jackie Burton and wife Deborah of Sperry, OK; 19 grandchildren, Jason Peck and wife Theresa of Moore, OK, Jennifer Peck Slater and husband Garrett of Norman, OK, Stephanie Ann Smith and husband Jason of Weatherford, OK, Jarrod Burton and wife Pam of Weatherford, OK, Lindsey Merrell and husband Kevin of Weatherford, OK, Steven Lacer and wife Amber of Anadarko, OK, Jeff Disher and wife Christena of Jenks, OK, Shauna Nelson and husband Cody of Calera, OK, Brad Burton and wife Ashley of Wetumka, OK, Jordan Burton and wife Anna of Tulsa, OK, and Baylie Burton of Jenks, OK, 18 great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, as well as many other relatives and friends.
Ralph was preceded in death by his parents, J.R. and Alma Burton, his wife, Twila Burton, his brothers, Kenneth Burton and Lloyd Burton, and his great granddaughter, Eleanor Lauren Burton.
